Television Programming and Video Content Production Company

BROCKS

Our activities extend outside Japan!!

We produce programs for countries in Asia and beyond!!

At BROCKS, we have produced various hit programs that broadcast during “Golden Time”-the prime time period between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., when television audiences are at their peak-for leading Japanese television networks.
The majority of these programs are what we call in Japan “Variety Programs,” a genre that encompasses a wide range of entertainment programs, including:
Travel shows, food shows, talk shows, quiz shows, battle-type game shows, reality shows, dramas, documentaries... the list goes on.
The quality of these programs-and their production standards-are extremely high, even when compared to programs produced overseas.

Having fulfilled diverse commissions from television networks to produce such Variety Programs, we have acquired outstanding expertise, knowledge, and ideas; drawing on these strengths, we have the capacity to produce programs not only for Japanese audiences but for audiences overseas as well!

For example...

Audience participation quiz shows with exceedingly difficult questions-to which only the most obsessive fans of a subject would know the answers

New forms of battle-type game shows

Shows that highlight the latest trends in and core information about Japan

Talk shows in which popular Japanese and overseas celebrities discuss global trends

Travel shows in which the presenters explore and communicate the qualities of unique locations around the world

Reality dating shows

Concept

BROCKS uses ideas and humor to generate popular new content for the ever-evolving television, entertainment, and movie industry. This is the raison d'etre of BROCKS.

CEO MESSAGE

Greetings and a Brief
History of BROCKS

It was in 1998, when I was 25 years old, that I moved to Tokyo with the dream of working in the video production industry. I joined a television production company immediately, and I worked as an assistant director on “Variety Programs” that had consistently high viewer ratings. After being promoted to director, I continued to oversee the production of numerous hit programs for Japanese television.

I was appointed chief director at the age of 32, and in this role I produced “Golden Time” programs with exceptional viewer ratings for numerous networks, including Nippon Television Network, TV Asahi, and Fuji Television. As chief director, I devoted myself to self-improvement.

In 2014, I was appointed general director of TBS’s variety program, Sakurai Ariyoshi Abunai Yakai.
In 2016, I was appointed director of the board, and continued to develop my career.
In 2017, at the age of 44, I was diagnosed with cancer.

“Nothing is Impossible”

My cancer had progressed to Stage IIIb, one step before it is considered terminal. I was suddenly peering into the abyss. But I managed to extricate myself from my despair, thanks to an overwhelming belief that I would prevail—that I would overcome my cancer, and stand on the front line of video production once again!

I underwent numerous operations and, miraculously, I recovered. Since then, I have etched into my mind that “nothing is impossible.”

In 2018, I determined to establish my own company, stepping forth into the next stage of my life, and in January 2019 I established BROCKS Co., Ltd.

“It Is the Hardships I Have Faced that Have Made Me Who I Am today.”

Looking back over the last quarter of a century, in which I hurled myself into the maelstrom that is the television industry, it is clear I faced many hardships.
Nevertheless, I am certain that it is these very hardships that have made me who I am today.
I intend to draw on my experiences in my leadership of BROCKS, and continue designing and producing new television programs and popular video content alongside my trustworthy companions. I can say this with confidence: the stories we produce will be well worth the wait.
